OK it isn't an OSCAR, but can you believe I actually WON SOMETHING?
I entered Kellan's contest over at On the Upside. So I thank Kellan and whoever sent me to her page in the first place! If you haven't read her stuff, please do. She makes me strive to be a better person and a better writer.
I chose the $25 gift certificate to TARGET. You know the place where I swear you can't get out of without spending $100! So now it will only be $75 - ha, ha.
I do plan to go into TARGET with gift card in hand and no child, no hubby and no phone. I plan to wander meaninglessly down the aisles and buy something for ME. Not for child. Not for house but for ME.
I know I haven't been good about updating lately. My job plus my over-commitment to volunteering has taken over. I must learn to say "no, I'd like to help, but I can't." Is there a support group out there for me? "Volunteer anonymous or suckers who refuse to say no?"
Well anyway, this little treat from Kellan came at the PERFECT TIME. I was just feeling like oh gee, forget this silly blog thing. You don't have time. No one cares. No one reads it. And then...you know what?
THE CRAZIEST THING. You sweet, sweet gals (a few guys too) - my dear BLOGGY friends come out and reach me and touch me with your comments. Does this happen to you too? A simple comment and my mood changes. OK truth be told, I'm sure some of my mood swings are pre-menopausal but...! LOL!
So since comments make ME feel good, I thought this would help to make YOU feel good...
I WILL BE HAVING A CONTEST TOO! In the next week (I'm still sorting out a few details) I will be running a contest that is for something I know I'd want and therefore I think you'll want it too! I'm almost want to burst out and type it. But I won't. Hee, hee, hee.
Got your interest? I hope so cuz it is going to be a GOOD ONE! I'll give some teasers throughout the next week to keep you motivated to come on back.

Lucille, hope you are well... what did you buy at Target? I love Target but didn't get to go to one while I was in New Mexico... didn't get to do as much shopping as I would have like but still managed to be overweight with the luggage. I'm not sure how that happend. Oh, it must have been the new kitchen knobs from Home Depot!!!! You take care of you.

Hi, I just found your blog by way of "Kathy, I am who I am". I had to laugh when I read the phrase "over commitment to volunteering".. I say that my name is no longer Theresa "some one has to do it" and now just plain Theresa. Of course it helps that I my kids are grown up now. If you take on an unrealistic amount of stuff, you won't be able to do your best at it all. With that said,it's amazing how much stuff you can accomplish. I miss Target, no Targets in Mexico but we do have Walmart.
